ESPectre brings motion detection to the smart management of homes, offices and shared spaces. It is designed for integrators and manufacturers who want to make spaces more responsive: detected events can switch on lights, adjust climate control or trigger an alarm. The system analyzes changes in the Wi-Fi signal without capturing images or audio.

When a person moves, they change how the Wi-Fi signal travels through a space. ESPectre analyzes CSI (Channel State Information), a measurement of the radio channel collected by a compatible ESP32 board.
High Accuracy mode uses a small neural network to analyze signal features and estimate the probability of motion. The model runs directly on the ESP32 and produces events for automations, without sending the signal to the cloud. A Lightweight mode based on a statistical model is also available to reduce memory and CPU use.
The SDK for integrators is available directly from the Espressif Component Registry.
License
The open-source license GPLv3 allows you to use, modify and distribute ESPectre, including commercially. If you distribute derived firmware, you must provide recipients with the corresponding source code and keep it under GPLv3. Changes made solely for internal use do not require publication of the code.
Mercurius Platform sells a commercial license for integrating the covered components into proprietary firmware without GPLv3 source-sharing obligations. We also offer paid services to integrate the SDK into your firmware, adapt it to your device and verify its operation. Licenses and services are quoted separately for each project.
